Land Restoration Projects

Idea Description

The Sultanate of Oman is one of the countries that lies in the northern tropics (the Tropic of Cancer), which is the most northerly circle of latitude on earth where the sun can be directly overhead. Hence, we know that energy can neither be created nor destroyed—it can only be converted from one form of energy to another. According to this state of the law of conservation of energy, Oman has adopted it and implemented it in reality by constructing several solar farms in the southern regions, where huge masses of solar panels have been put to use in order to utilize the sun's energy and convert it into electricity. PDO, for example, is one of the companies that implements projects that are aligned with this "state,' which is also aligned with Oman's 2040 vision to reduce CO2 emissions and advance through green hydrogen generation. Hence, we can benefit more from these projects in the same region or other regions located on the west side than just converting energy. Rather than just converting energy, we can increase our economic state and provide opportunities for people who are not yet employed, especially those who have skills in farming and those who graduated in Agricultural and Marine Sciences, by adopting the idea that China came up with, "Transforming Deserts Into Useful Lands." This idea will cut carbon dioxide emissions, improve air quality, provide opportunities for more active lifestyles, and beautify cities in a sustainable way, in addition to planting trees and vegetation, planting crops and vegetables, using new technology to turn hot and dry desert sands into soil, and planting watermelon.

Challenges The Idea is Addressing

• Water availability. • Violent conflicts over land. • Faraway regions. • Grazing animals can destroy many desert plants and animals.

Benefits of Idea Implementation

• Increase our economic state and provide opportunities for people who are not yet employed. • Transforming deserts into useful lands • Cut carbon dioxide emissions. • Improve air quality. • Provide opportunities for more active lifestyles and beautify cities in a sustainable way. • Planting trees and vegetation • Chickens, camels, and other gazing animals' farm
