Combined cooling system powered by renewable energy and carbon capture technology

Idea Description

General Descripition:

  • The increased demand for air conditioning puts pressure on the power grid.
  • Every degree Celsius of temperature, electricity use increases from 2% to 4%.
  • Therefore, replacing the air-conditioning system with renewabal energy will lead to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and a decrease in air temperatures.
  • By retrofitting air conditioning (A/C) systems in houses, apartments, and office buildings with "existing technology" to capture CO2 and H2O from thin air.

The process:

  1. The HVAC system on your building would be retrofitted with a special filter.
  2. As the ac pulls the air in for cooling the filter would absorb carbon dioxide from the air and collect the water that's produced as a byproduct of the cooling process the air conditioner.
  3. Would also be fitted with an electrolyzer which is a divice that separate water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen.
  4. Then that hydrogen would go through chemical reaction process with the captured carbon dioxide resulting in a liquid hydrocarbon fuel that's chemically the same as petroleum-based fuel the whole system would be about the size of a shipping container.
  5. This renewable synthetic oil (crowd oil) replaces non-renewable fossil oil.

Challenges The Idea is Addressing

1- Pressures on the power grid. 2- Greenhouse gas emissions. 3- Increased temperatures of weather.

Benefits of Idea Implementation

1- Reducing the cost of the electricity bill. 2- Reducing greenhouse gas emissions. 3- Renewable hydrocarbon fuel production.
