Turning waste into energy

Idea Description
The rate of waste in the Sultanate of Oman is very high, reaching 1.9 million tons of waste. Part of this waste is recycled and the other part is sent to authorized and unlicensed landfills for burial, which creates environmental and health issues, so the remaining waste can be converted into energy. The incineration process converts the waste into heat that is used to drive an electric turbine.
Challenges The Idea is Addressing
- Capital to start the project.
Benefits of Idea Implementation
- Solving the problem of disposing of residual waste in a safe manner. - Generation of electric energy that can be transferred to the main electricity network of the city.
