Landlord and Tenants credit check system LATE Lens

16 March 2023 by Said Al Rawahi

Idea Description

LATE Lens is a credit check system (online and app) that provides two services for both tenants and landlords. For the tenants, it will have data of landlords to ensure that the tenants can check the services provided and the history of the landlords before renting the property. For the landlords, it will have data of tenants to ensure that the landlords can check the credit history of the tenants before letting the property to the tenants.

The LATE Lens screening process could help both tenants and landlords avoid any issues with the perspective of property letting later down the line. The LATE Lens system will help in reducing court issues related to property and it will help to create a culture of responsibilities and care for both tenants and landlords.  Both tenants and landlords, need to pay for the services to get the required information. The data can be accessed once per payment/one transaction.  For prices as low as OMR3 per check to get all the information needed to enable to make an informed decision about tenants and landlord.

The system provides only detailed information held on public registers, and criteria benchmark internationally such as: Electoral roll status, as evidence of the tenant’s name and address, Insolvencies or Country Court judgments (CCJs), formal judgments from the County Court that the tenant owes money, and Fraud convictions. Also, the system provides a score for each tenant and landlord, so tenants and landlords can make their choice.

Permission (preferably in writing) will be mandatory before a credit check is done.
